Unclear as to if purchasing Bimmerlink in addition to Bimmercode using iOS is necessary?? Can anyone confirm..

Does Bimmercode throw error codes you need Bimmerlink to clear?

My understanding is code is the app for coding and link is the app so they can communicate.

BimmerCode is for coding the car and unlocking features. I believe that BimmerLink is for figuring out & clearing fault codes - Say resetting the car to a new battery, for example.

I have just BimmerCode on my iphone Xs and that is only to unlock hidden features on my 535.

I would buy both. Bimmerlink is good for checking errors and clearing them, something you would usually pay dealer or indy to do.

Thanks for clarifying and I can see getting both. It would be nice to have the ability to keep an eye on error codes.
