Engine squeaking on startup
Hello all,
I recently noticed my engine “squeaking or ticking” on startup. I saw that I had an oil leak, so I had that repaired (both gaskets on housing). I started my car this morning and noticed that the noise seems louder. It’s actually really loud if I pop the hood. Sounds like it’s coming from the front of the engine. Thoughts? Serp belt, pulley, bearings, alternator? Vehicle: 535xi 2011 104k mi. Vimeo . Com /380373043 Thanks! Last edited by partymartyy; 12-18-2019 at 05:14 PM.. |

I'd definitely start with the serp belts.

Hello, I replaced the serp belt, tensioner pulley, and radiator hose (all 3 parts of hose). I paid $475 at my Indy shop for parts and labor. Car is running great now!
