Does this add anything to the HUD, like RPM or gear?

but as a fyi - while you ahve the HUD enabled, you get no nav information displayed... would be a bit obsolete to have the information duplicated everywhere..

WOW!! This is really cool. How about US version cars? Will the speedometer display miles per hour, kilometers per hour, or both?

And how does it look with a manual transmission? Is the gear position indicated?

I will say it again, for me, some things just looks & works better in analogue style, but each to their own. I like "real" needles as you can't reproduce smoothens of movement, especially as someone mentioned that this display has slow refresh rate.

But obvious, for gadget folks, this is something to play around with.

Maybe I'm just jealous or something but the whole BMW Lexus thing ain't working for me. Sometimes analog is better than digital...

That said, good luck. Hope you do a million retrofits :-)

It looks like BimmerTech needs to offer an initial free, or at the most at-cost, retrofit here in the U.S. to a few lucky customers to get started on this huge market. All it would take is one or two happy customers and the market is wide open. Hmmm...not that I have an ulterior motive here but I live in San Diego, I have a 2011 F10 535i, and BimmerTech's SoCal facility is only an hour away...

Maybe buying a lottery ticket might be a better choice. With that said, it never hurts to ask....

If you want to see this in real life, shoot me a PM. I have an F01 that I have retrofitted a bunch of stuff from Patryk, most recently the digital instrument cluster. I am in San Diego also just near the fairgrounds.

I do not have acces to a "send PM to..." when I click on your name so I've sent a "friend" request to you. Maybe that will enable PM'ing?

I am very interested in seeing your car. I live a few miles from you.

I guess the system says I have to have 3 posts before I can have friends and PM activated. You can email me at "rajeek1" at that google email address (gmail dot com). Hope that made sense. Would love to have you come by if you wish.

The MFID is awesome and adds immensely to the driving experience. It's not just a gadget. And the needles are normally smooth enough that you don't notice any refresh rate. Only sometimes will you notice a somewhat reduced FPS, which is something BMW will solve in a software update.

I absolutely love the MFID and wouldn't change the spec from 6WB to 6WA.

Guys (and Gals),

i had Patryk oraganise me a Cluster but I opted against keeping it. Sent it back to patryk who can have it sent worldwide, and he will take care of the coding. If anyone is interested, I am willing to part from it at a cheaper price than what is offered on bimmer-tech.

PM me if you are interested!!

cheers
