Leaking oil (housing gasket)?

My vehicle: 2011 535i xDrive (105k mi)

I’ve noticed a slight ticking noise after starting the car (only lasts for maybe 3-4 minutes after start up) so I popped the hood to take a look. Upon immediate inspection I noticed a leak below the filter. Thoughts? Upon reading some posts it looks like it may be the housing gasket. I was able to put my phone under there to get an up close pic of all the gunk.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I’m taking care of this in the next few days. Debating on buying the OEM gasket pack and trying to do this myself opposed to going to my Indy shop.

It's not hard to do. Just have to take your time. Order the parts from FCPEURO.com.

Main issue is the bottom bolt its a pain to get to. Its very DIY. I did my oil change with this as taking it off you can mix coolant and oil. If you do this yourself pull the fuel pump fuse and let the car prime a couple times. There was an apparent "air pocket" that can get in and cause no oil pressure. I did that to avoid that at all costs. Also when I refilled oil I poured some down the filter housing before replacing. If any questions Ill try to answer.

I did it the first week I had mine. Get both gaskets (housing and cooler. You’ll want to bleed the cooling system after. Just YouTube it, electric water pump. Super easy!! FCPEURO!

Had my Indy shop take care of it. $550 for both gaskets and an oil change. My only concern was taking it apart an not being able to put it back together lol

Here's a couple of DIY threads to help you, if you take your time handling the bolts (tight locations) it's definitely a doable DIY.
