Idiot people on the road!!!!!
So I come back to my car and walk around it just because it was sunny and wanted to see the angles and to my horror notice that I've been hit on the rear panel bellow the passenger door. I have some scratches and a dent. Man up and leave your phone number... What pisses me off so much is that my car is practically brand new and this crap happens when I'm not at fault!!
I'll post some pics later... Pretty sure I can buff out the scratches as they don't seem to be that deep.. It's the dent that I'm worried about.. How do you guys feel with doing paint less dent removal? Are there any other alternatives?

Happened to me too. Only a few months into ownership. Big SUV (Caddy) opened the door and dented right at the rear wheel well, but no paint damage.
Paid $80 to have PDR and the result was perfect once again. |

PDR is legit. As long as the dent isn't on any crease they can get it out looking perfect.
Sucks to hear about this though. Alan

PDC is awesome, and a good tech can make the dent disappear.

As you said, "man up and leave your phone number". I was so pissed when this happened to me that if by some unlucky chance I do it to someone else (*knock on wood*), I won't even think about not leaving my contact info. As already said, if it is well inside the panel (far from creases, edges), you should be okay with PDR. |

joey5622, If you are talking the side skirt below the door, I believe thats plastic. PDR can only remove the dent if they can get behind the panel, I am not sure if there is access to get behind there. The PDR guy will not remove any panels to remove dents as that is a job for the body shop.
Dont feel to bad, the same thing happened to me. 2000 miles on the clock and someone back into me while I was park, took off and didnt leave any info. The bumper was dented and the grille scratched, about $2000 worth of damage. Just got the car back yesterday with a new bumper cover and grille. No body leave note anymore around here, thats one of the biggest flaw to this safe driver credit point system, it doesnt pay to be honest. |

I feel for you man, my 528 is only about 2 months old but 3 weeks into taking delivery some roadworkers on the sidewalk I was driving past were using hand held grass cutters and instead of cutting the grass, they swung the cutters onto the road where there were significant amounts of rocks which resulted in chips all over my hood. No choice but to get it repainted.
Unfortunately insurance exccess was significantly higher than the repaint and was too much trouble to do a claim against the employers. Sigh. Plus side for me, hood after being repainted and recoated was properly sanded as opposed to when i took delivery and looks heaps better than factory finish with a mirror reflective finish. Too bad the rest of my car doesnt have the mirror shine, though likely will get the car completely done with a good paint correction and cquartz finest or opticoat once my hood's paint has cured. |
