So I stumbled upon this in my truck forum where guys have lifted trucks talk about larger tires and the balancing difficulty.

I know the F10 has had many issues with vibration and myself, with new wheels and tires have gotten it almost dead on and I've been good for many months/ miles, but it's starting to have a very slight vibration at 65mph again (of which I've been spending a lot of time after my $700 ticket)

A guy swears by this product and I guess guys have used many other products like BBs and airsoft BBs to a similar effect, but this demo is pretty telling:

It doesn’t seem like a very good idea to me. For one thing the bottle is hollow in the middle and a tire on the car has the wheel in the middle so it’s not exactly apples to apples as the beads may not be able to fall to the other side as easily. The other thing is that what will those beads do to your air pressure and temperature sensors in the tire over time? The other thing is can you hear the sand moving around when you’re driving slow through parking lot or something?

Maybe you could take your wheels, with no tires, to a machine shop or something and have them balance the wheels so you know they’re perfect and then the tire guy just has to balance the tire like a normal tire balance? I don’t know. Just an idea.

Interesting, but sounds a bit like snake oil.... Also it if was this easy, why wouldn't auto manufacturers install at the factory?
