Help W/ Floor Jack Operation

so i just got my first real floor jack today and have a few questions. help much appreciatd. thanks guys.

1. after usage just turn the handle counter clockwise to let all the pressure out?

2. in the instruction manual it says it needs to have oil changes like a car??? more details on this. i thought floor jacks are maintainence free, you just use, release pressure, and store.

For the amount that you will use it the oil will never need changed.

i got confused when i got my jack to but i don't think you have to change it your not going to use it everyday...

so just make sure to release it all the way before storage and im g2g? the jack came with some type of safety clip thing where you put the pole into the hole to pump the jack

do i always have to put the clip back after usage?

i found that over time my craftsman jack loses pumping strength and wouldn't hold at the desired height.. this is due to the fluid being low. that's when additional fluid needs to be added or changed completely. with heavy use, i don't think i added additional fluid for 2 years.
