O2 sensor lazy?
Anyone have an o2 sensor get marginal without codes? My 2013 N55 F10 with 35k miles has a hesitation at lower to mid rpms and light throttle.
In my early days I had a wideband o2 on a 2Jz that got fouled by lead. The first symptom would be lazy or erratic readings at low throttle settings. On my F10, I reset the 2 Lambda adaptation settings, and the throttle response immediately improved to normal, but each time I would start the car, the throttle response would become more erratic and lazy. I'm thinking that the Lambda reset brought back a stock setting that gradually gets off the rails due to bad o2 data. Does this sound reasonable? How often do N55 o2 sensors go bad? Has anyone had a similar situation? Looks like the main wideband on the N55 is about $225. from Tischer. Thanks! |

FYI, this was the primary 02 sensor going bad. Replaced it and hesitation / stutter on initial throttle input is totally gone. No codes, nothing that a dealer could see. If you have an AT, I doubt you'd ever notice it, but with a 6MT, that initial push on the gas is very noticeable with every shift. 2013 535i 6mt with 40k miles.
