I have searched the forum and have found many threads. I am sure some of them have the info I need, but I cannot tell which ones. I have a 2017 F32 440ix with a navigation system and also "Hands-free Bluetooth and USB audio connection? (6NH). Apparently, I needed to buy "Apple Car Play" to get 6NS instead of 6NH. There are instructions for using Bimmercode (I have that) and instructions for using E-Sys (I have that also). There are variations for older and newer and with a combo box in the trunk and without, and the more I read, the more confused I get. The functionality I am most concerned with is getting notifications for SMS messages and emails through a connected phone. All I can do now is to make and receive calls. My first choice would be to code the car to appear as it would have come from the factory if I had known to order Enhanced Bluetooth.

All you need to do is code Head-unit with E-sys for 6NS.
Then, code back microphone number to one, if necessary.

A 2017 vehicle has combox part of HU and you do not need to code anything else.

Read Coding Data for NBT2
Search for below function and make note of number.
If one, then you will want to code back to one after VO coding.
If two, then you do not have to do anything else.
This avoids faults for system looking for "missing" hardware.
