I do t think it's exactly 2.5

It's something like 2.36

Doubles is right, BMW doesn't use SAE. They use metric. It's 60mm OD for a lot of the exhaust clamps, which converts to 2.36 or so inches.

Sounds good thanks a lot!

Do you think 2.5 inch would work with clamps or should I just get it welded? I can't seem to find that diameter x-pipe.

It's a 3mm difference. If you don't want to weld, you could ask the shop (or do it yourself) to make small slots on the end, one on each side of the pipe, so that it can bend a bit when you clamp it. Or just say fuck it and clamp it down REAL hard
