FMIC worth it, for me?

Stage 1 mhd, will probably stay that way for reliability sake (instead of stage 2). Intake, CP, Sprintbooster...I'm in a city with all four seasons so it's not insanely hot in the summer. Is it worth the ~$700 for a fmic?

Best way to find out is by datalogging. To give you a perspective I was MHD stage 1 for the longest time and even driving around my IATs would go over 122 °F. And that was with ambient temps in the high 70s. Any run to redline will send your temps in the +170 °F. It has been discussed in lengths that factory intercooler is inefficient even at stock power levels

Have you seen anything that translates heat soak into hp loss? Plenty of butt dyno data but curious what the actual power loss looks like

I have seen my car pull timing and after sending my logs to MHD I was told that I needed an intercooler. So, yes you will feel the car making less power once your vehicle is heatsoaked.

I have stage 1 bm3 and I was thinking the same to go into stage 2 I would need FMIC but it's like $900+ Wagner for one haha so I'm not sure I noticed you have Sprint booster, how do you like it ? I'm thinking about getting it !

I believe it will be $250 and like $320 if you want customization option, dont quote me on this though but looking current price it looks about right.

With xHP you will get faster shifts at trans level, sprint booster is just padal singal enhancer.

Plus better line pressure control to hold more torque in theory. In my opinion xHP would be much better option then sprint booster. I was thinking of buying sprint booster for like $250 but I am glad I didnt.

Also, with customization option you can set shiftpoints, meaning you can tell the trans to shift at 5800rpm on stock turbo on WOT. Since stock turbo after 5500rpm does nothing but loose power.

Google xHP Flash tool and look at their current pricing, from my understanding their flash also overcome the issue with delay in padal response.

I like the Sprintbooster. I actually have the BMS Pedal Tuner but said Sprintbooster bc it's better known. Bms is $100 cheaper, does the same thing. One of my other posts has my review on it. Well worth the money to me.

Zieksq - your comment is the first I've seen anywhere that xhp will help throttle response to the extent Sprintbooster does. That'd be a nice perk but I've understood that xhp is just tranny. Unless it includes some separate module or defaults to increase throttle response then it doesn't make Sprintbooster redundant.

I am getting it once it is released but I read it I think somewhere on their facebook someone commenting that little touch of paddle will shoot the car so keep your distance on stage 3. I am guessing stage 1 and 2 also probably do the same and since you get all stages bundled in the package it is a no brainer. Like said it is my understanding from what I have read somewhere, I did not say I am 100 percent sure.

Their maps advertise "Faster Paddle Response Time" and stage 3 map says "Instant paddle response time."

Thats one of the neat features of XHP TCU Tunning. The only downside is that only comes for Android although an iOS release is expected by mid year.

I have a cp,dp, m performance exhaust and bm3 stage 1 tune but I think that about tops it for me bc I plan on keeping this car for awhile so don't want to go into stage 2 haha, what else would you add ? thinking about Sprint booster but not sure

The stages I was referring to were for tcu tune, and not pure stage 2.

You can pick between 3 stages or do custom trans tune. Any of the 3 stage tunes will work with your car even if it bone stock.

Pure stage 2 will be fine on the car as long as you dont abuse it to extreme.

This is XHP TCU tunning manual:

https://www.xhpflashtool.com/resources/xhp_manual.pdf

Stage 1:
- Optimized D Shiftpoints to facilitate sporty, yet economy style driving - Optimized Shift Strategy for up/downhill driving
- Optimized Warmup Behaviour
- Optimized Torque Converter Lockup in 1st/2nd/3rd gear
- Lowered minimum RPM limit manual mode
- Adapted Torque Limits for Tuned engines
- Gear Display in Dash in D/S/M Modes (where supported)

Stage2:
- Optimized D & S Shiftpoints for better acceleration in part and full throttle situations - Firmer, sportier upshifts in D/S/M mode
- Faster paddle response time
- Optimized Shift Strategy for up/downhill driving
- Optimized Warmup Behaviour
- Optimized Torque Converter Lockup in 1st/2nd/3rd gear - Raised Torque Limits for Tuned engines
- Gear Display in Dash in D/S/M Modes (where supported)

Stage 3:
- Optimized D & S Shiftpoints for better acceleration in part and full throttle situations - Race-like upshifts with TQ increase
- Shift times approx. 50% faster in S/M Modes
- Shift times approx. 25% faster in D Mode
- True Manual mode (no automatic upshift in M mode)
- Automatic Rev-Matching (Throttle – Blip) on Downshifts in S/M Modes - Faster paddle response time
- Optimized Shift Strategy for up/downhill driving
- Optimized Warmup behavior
- Optimized Torque Converter Lockup in 1st/2nd/3rd gear
- Even more raised Torque Limits for Tuned engines
- Gear Display in Dash in D/S/M Modes (where supported)

This TCU tunning includes other things such as torque converter lockup to avoid the transmission slipping, torque raise, faster shifts, etc. It should make the car even more fun with this flash.
