Good question.

With the BimmerCode App you can only deactivate the ASD.

That's right but I wrote it that I know only how to
deactivate the ASD that is controlled over this button.

That's why this is a good question.

I did a lot of research, but I couldn't find it. He works with ASD. But I couldn't find the exhaust code.

The exhaust button has nothing to do with the fake exhaust sound that is piped in over the speakers

That button on sports plus mode does two things....turns on ASD sound and turns on exhaust valve for more flow and exhaust sound.....not sure I get the question?

I beleive coding can only disable ASD as stated above

It does not turn on and off the asd, it only opens and closes the valves of the exhaust

I would question that on the M5 competition model when on sports plus mode...because I clearly hear the sound coming out of speakers at the press of the button.....can anyone else confirm this?

Maybe you should just read your owners manual

I also confirmed with the service manger at my dealership, the button opens and closes the exhaust. In order to remove the sound coming over the speakers you need to do it Programmatically or physically disconnect it

I read your links...still not clear....I am asking for someone else who tested this to jump in to confirm.....per my test I hear ASD sound on sport plus with button turned on and no ASD sound with button turned off in sport plus......in my F10 M5 I had to disconnect the ASD cable

ASD actually sounds good on this car

The button does TWO things when active: 1) Turns on ASD (which I agree sounds pretty good in this car) and 2) IF the Engine mode is Sport+, THEN it opens the exhaust baffles.

For US models It does not have anything to do with the exhaust noise that plays on the stereo, and it opens the exhaust no matter what performance mode the car is in.

Just call and ask a tech person at your local dealer.

jeffscott1 hmm that's very different from my experience and from what onfireX5 posted on the thread you linked to...

But okay. Maybe I"ll play with it more when I'm out next, easy enough to unplug the valve actuators and see if the button does anything (if so, its also controlling ASD). FWIW my local dealership techs don't seem to be that up on the new M5 yet...

+M5. I agree. This button gets rid of the stupid drone that has got to be coming through the speakers when cruising at freeway speed even on efficient mode.

So ASD is off unless this button is switched on? I was under impression ASD is on by default unless removed by method of coding.

Also doesn't the exhaust valve open up automatically when vehicle in Sport + mode past a certain RPM? Since i want to do a valve mod if this just opens the valve on flip of a button, i can open them without having to rev the engine and disconnect the plug.
