Higher tyres on 20"
Hello,
Im picking up my first BMW f10 this weekend and i am looking at getting some new wheels for it. I saw one on my street with 275-30 20" rear and 245-30 20" the wells looked a bit empty so im whondering if i can go up one dimension in sidewall. Theese are the rims i want to get, 8,5J et35 front and 10J ET43 rear https://www.autostyling.com/alloy-wh...lver-machined/ alternatively theese, 8,5J et33 in front and 9,5 et38 rear: https://alucenter.pl/gb/116840-284-s...7-f10-f11.html Questions: Can i fit 245-40 20" front and 275-35 20" rear? Is 9,5 a good fit rear or is 10 better? Are the offets right, will they fit good to the fenders? Thanks alot for all help, hopefully i can place the order soon Last edited by Kyben; 06-07-2022 at 08:08 AM.. |

Those should fit fine with stock suspension with either rim's you choose. I test fitted 10,5 et45 with 295/30R20 for rear and that would fit too.
I run 245/35 and 275/30... But lowered of course. Last edited by zener; 06-08-2022 at 07:32 AM.. |

245/40 and 275/35 will work fine, I have the larger diameter on my car and no issues. The fronts will rub a protrusion on the inner fender liner behind the headlights on large compressions, but I'm lowered with a fairly aggressive fitment on the front.
Your proposed offsets might tuck under a little, but I hesitate to give advice for flush fitment since it can depend on each car's lowering and alignment. For example, the more you lower the front the less offset you need for flush fit, and the rear is sensitive to camber settings and lowering. Once you start getting close to flush, it all depends... if you're planning to lower the car, do that first and get your alignment sorted. Then you can play with spacers and measure measure measure to make sure your new wheels will work the way you want them to. |
