Hello everyone,
Recently purchased a 530d F11 2014 with N57 engine. Currently 1 owner before me and has done 89k miles. I’ve taken it to my local garage (not particularly BMW focussed, but I trust them) for a service and a general checkover. They did an oil change and ran the codes but they were concerned with the potential costs of getting these issues fixed, before I commit to it. I decided to run the codes on ISTA myself (had it from my previous E92) to see what I would get. So here it is:
Worth noting:
Presumptions:

There are many issues but to tackle it properly, you first need a new battery and MAF sensor. Those two are bad. Then you can see if the misfire is due to a bad MAF or something else. Bad battery also cause a lot of issues on these cars. The shop should have done a compression test for you while they have it.
Injector, spark plug, ignition coils and high pressure fuel pump can also can contribute to misfire but they can be rulled out once you have good working MAF and battery. You don’t want to replace a bunch of parts and still didn’t fix the problem. Also, injectors requires programming. If previous owner replaced it and didn’t program, it may not run smooth as well. |

Appreciate your help Hoa.
So the battery code 9308B0 actually relates to the battery of the key fob, so I'll ignore that one for now. I took the MAP sensor out to inspect it, there's not much build up, but I could see that the plastic looks like it has slightly melted from heat, so I've ordered a new one. In terms of the MAF sensor, I'm going to wait to see what improvements that a new MAP sensor will make, as mentioned above, before buying that as I'd rather avoid that if I don't need it. I inspected a hose on the front left of the engine that went down towards the subframe that I presume was the crankcase breather hose, but I can't find a diagram of where that is located on an N57, does anyone know? This hose had what looked like a leak on the lower connector, but it was difficult to see. May this be the boost leak? |

I'm not familiar with the N57 but try www.realoem.com to find diagram/part # for the hose you're talking about.

Moreensby, Hi there I own a BMW F11 530D 2014 LCI N57N Engine with 90k miles on the clock and I am currently also going through same issues as you’ve listed, first I’ve been told by several people to get my injectors done which I have but the issue is still there.
Starting the car up in the morning, White/Gray smoke with the car shaking/vibrating until it comes to temperature then smoke goes away.. but the shaking/vibrating still remains.. Faults that are currently popping up are as follows 27F000 - Air mass system, charge air hose: Leak detected 290900 - Air mass system: Measured air mass too high 2A6C00 - Operational smoothness regulator, cylinder 2: Correction quantity outside permitted range 2BA400 - Charging pressure actuator: closed too loosely Any suggestions of what I should be doing first since injectors weren’t the issues after all.. anything would be much appreciated. |
