Hello everyone,

I am in process of removing the intercooler right now which is located at the front of the car and just below the radiator fan. I was trying top pull down the intercooler after taking out all the bolts and cover but I noticed the fan is getting in the way.

Anyway, the left/driver side of the fan is just not coming out (i am scared to yank it all the way) and it seems to be stuck. I checked for any screws but there doesn't seem to be any either in the region so I am guessing this "lock" thing may be holding on it. I tried to use my finger and tools to unlock it but it's tightened (possibly impacted when a rock hit the intercooler which dented it; fan still works)


Is my understanding correct and i need to push it to unlock it (push it against the back of the car)?

ps. I can lift the right/passenger side with ease. I think I need maybe just 4 inches of clearance to take out the intercooler

I figured it out!

You have to push in (push toward the front of the car) the circled Red part and slide up the fan at the same time.
