Trunk hatch opens but not fully closing

Hi guys been looking around and not a lot in the forums on this.
I have a 2011 535ixdrive GT and the hatch isn’t locking down when I close it on drivers side.
How do I test the actuator and micro switches to ensure they are easy working or does anyone have any other ideas? I’ll try adjusting the trunk stops I just seen in another post but would like to check micro switches. One video suggests using an ob2 scanner to activate the micro switch but don’t see the option in the bimmer link or car scanner I apps I have for my scanner.
Thanks

So to add to my post, when trunk closes I can hear the actuator activate but it isn’t locking down the hatch. Hoping someone more familiar with this stuff can help if that’s a microswitch or the actual actuator needing to be replaced
