FS: Bastuck exhaust for $750: 83mm tips, not too loud but

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
it gives a nice rumble, particularly at start up and lower revs, but totally mellow while cruising, maybe 10% louder than stock while cruising. When you get on it, you'll definitely hear a deeper tone and rumble.

This is the orginal single can, quad tip exhaust.

I've gotten many compliments on it and you can hear it when they're pulling the car up after a car wash.

I'm now ready for something a little louder. It's priced pretty good. Local only since it's pretty big.

Here are some pics.

My bad. It's the original quad tip.

So it is the big single muffler type system, right? Not the new double muffler? Can you please post pictures?

Yes.
What ever it took to bolt it right up to the stock connectors is what I've got.

Thanks for the pictures. I am going to pass. I don't like to see the muffler that much. Good luck with the sale, this is a hell of a deal.

You can't see the can while standing and barely see if in another car. You could always paint the can black with some engine paint from Autozone for $5.

No drone except where the engine normally has a slight drone around 2,000 RPM, but it's there with the stock one too. It's not really noticeable, but if you listen to it, you'll notice it.

The only issue with shipping is finding a strong and large box to ship it. It's still on my car, so I'd have to take it off, but don't really want to do it unless someone is pretty committed to buying it.
I'm in no hurry to sell it and have had some low ball offers I've turned down because I'm not desperate to sell it. It's a good sounding exhaust that's basecally deeper than stock.

I'm interested too, but need a good sound clip man (make sure to include a drive-by at normal throttle levels). And need some more pics straight from the rear please. Seems to hang down too much, which is exactly the reason I'm getting rid of the exhaust muffler.

And finally, you said no drone, which is great, but how about volume increase inside the cabin? How louder over stock? Would my noise/drone-sensitive wife notice the exhaust change if I didn't tell her? You should sell it soon regardless due to good pricing, so just be patient.

Oh, and do you (or somebody else) know how the single-muffler system compares to the dual one that just came out? Curious if quieter inside the cabin or noisier. Thanks man.

I'm trying to work on some sound clips. Videos are all new to me.

It's pretty quiet in the cabin but definitely louder than stock, maybe 20-25% louder if you can really give a percentage point. I just took my brother in-law's E90 M3 6-speed out with the wife and she even said it's too quiet stock. She was telling him, "you need to get an exhaust. It sounds like my car (335)" You will notice it, but you can also have a conversation with the Bluetooth while speaking at normal voice levels. There is a slight drone at 2000 RPM in 7th gear, but it seems all exhaust's have that with this engine. It's slight and you have to actually listen for it.

I've been driving with the windows down lately since it's not scorching hot and it truely sounds pretty good down low. I'd just like more volume up top. It's pretty perfect down low. Another option I may do is just taking out the secondary cats/resonators since it's suppose to open it up more up top.

elp_jc, the can probably hangs about as low as stock, so this is probably not for you.\
My main problem has been finding a box for this since a couple people have wanted it, but it would require shipping. I'm really in no hurry at all since it's perfect for 90% of the time.
As for the double can system, it seems mine is deeper, but it's hard to tell from the vids since you'd have to have a big speaker or sub to hear how deep it is (or my camera may not even pick it up).
