It's an awesome game!
Unless you plan on playing it more than once you could probably just do a rental though. It sounds like you could play through it in a few days of gaming. I'm really impressed how good of a job they did on this game. Usually they just take controls and game engine from something else and slap batman stuff on it. This game, however, is a completely new gameplay and design. The graphics are awesome, the cutscenes are plentiful and creative. The story is good. And the controls and game playing is crazy fun. The controls are really easy to figure out and the combos are cool. Definitely one of the best games this year. |

Yeah, I think I'm going to get it.. There hasn't really been an action game that I've wanted to get for a while..and other than Batman, I probably won't get one until Modern Warfare 2.. well, maybe Halo 3: ODST

I wouldn't really describe it as an "action" game though. The combat is simple, so if you were looking for a "difficult" action game, this isn't it. There is some "predator mode" (sneaking) to dispatch of armed guys quickly (gun shots will finish you quickly!).
Actual hand to hand combat though is: 1 button for attack (mash, mash, mash), and 1 button for counter-attack (push stick in direction of attacker and counter, then attack repeatedly). You have a few gadgets to add to the mix, such as a quick batarang throw, some enemies require you to stun them (with your cape) before your hits land any real damage. There are "finishing moves," (Batman doesn't kill), and when you get your combo multiplier high enough (or increase Batman's combo ability), you can jump around from enemy to enemy beating the s#it out of one, and quickly jumping over to the next, and the next. That s#it is f*cking crazy! Just don't get hit, or your combo multiplier resets and your ability to jump around from enemy to enemy ends. =( Still, if you're a Batman fan, you'll most likely like this. I'm not a huge Batman fan, but still a fan nonetheless. I've read Batman - No Man's Land, Arkham Asylum, Hush, Year One, and Child of Dreams. I've also read the Superman Batman books (Loeb was good, but after Loeb they got really...stupid), and the first Supergirl (continues from Superman Batman 3). That said, if you enjoyed the game, pick up Batman Arkham Asylum (graphic novel). It will give you the background on those "Spirit of Arkham" scans you were searching for in the game. I'm on 19x (190 something) of the 240 Riddler Riddles. If you just want to finish the story, the above was correct, rent it and finish it, sit back and think that was a good game. If you're going to try and finish it to 100% because it was that good, it's probably worth a buy.

^^ Yeah I know what mean. The last games that I've gotten have all been sports games, and there hasn't really been an action or adventure game thats been out that I've been excited to play..like a game without a football, golfball, hockey puck, or car haha.. I'll probably buy it, unless one of my friends got it, then I'll just borrow it lol

This, like RE5 will be played to completion by me. I did everything in RE5 except the multi-player stuff and got my platinum (PS3). This is another one of those games for me.
