How do you plan to keep your F-10 sparkling clean?
Well, I have not waxed any of my cars for a very long time.
I am likely going to do some tender loving care to my new F10 when I get it, especially during the honeymoon stage. Anyway, my questions: 1. Do you guys still wash your car in your driveway? Do people frown upon that due to environmental concerns? I have not done it for a long time and most of my car washing is when I pay people to do hand washing for me. I don't think I see anyone wash his or her cars in my neighborhood. What car wash material do you guys use if you do wash your F-10 ? 2. Which wax do you use to make your F10 nice and shiny and at the same time protect the paint? Where do you buy them? Which material do you use to apply and clean the wax? |

Do some searches on the internet, if you're not claying your car, it isn't clean.
Wax or newer synthetic types (Zaino and the like) are pretty much a personal preference, regardless, enjoy the time with your car. |

I just did "the works" to my 535 for the first time today:
1. Spray wheels with Eagle wheel cleaner. Scrub. Rinse. Rotate wheels half spin. Repeat. 2. Wash with Zymol Auto Wash. Use the Mr. Clean AutoDry to rinse the car to prevent water spots. 3. Dry. 4. Clay with Meguiar's clay+detailing spray. 5. Wash again. 6. Dry again. 7. Indoor AC break to prevent heat stroke at 100 degrees in Houston... 8. Apply Meguiars NXT next gen tech wax. (polymer based wax) Super easy to apply, very easy to remove. Wet deep gloss on my Dark Graphite Metallic. 9. Apply Armor All Wheel protectant. GREAT for preventing brake dust on your wheels. Rotate wheels 1/2 spin. Apply more wheel protectant. 10. Remove wax with micro-fiber cloth. 11. Apply tire dressing. 12. Enjoy the car after 5 hours of work. Well worth it! Again, this may not be the best way of keeping up your car, but I'm not an expert, just enjoy and have fun cleaning my new car.

1) Wash car with blue Dawn (to remove all residue, just tis first wash - never again)
2) Clay-ed with Zaino clay and Z6 finishing spray 3) Washed and dry (with thick pile towel) 4) 3 coats of Z2 polish later...diamond wet finish! Too bad it's too dark to take photos...tomorrow. Hey, let's post some pics of your shiners! |

Excellent, but one small change to #4. 1 coat Z2 (with ZFX), then 1 coat Z5 (with ZFX), then final coat of Z2 (with ZFX). ;-) |

Most definitely, if there are fine scratches or swirl marks on paint. Otherwise, no real need for Z5. Also, Z8 Grand Finale seal - just applied mine, waiting for the shine!

Holy smokes, you guys are really good at this. And I thought that applying one coat of Turtle Wax was good enough 25 years ago. I have not done any waxing since then. Boy...I am feeling old just reading the comments on this thread.

My Black Sapphire 550i is pampered as such:
1. Always garaged 2. Washed in shade once a week and then shammied dry 3. Biweekly McGuires spray wax with micro mit in shade 4. Tire shine and dressing weekly 5. Wife is in charge of total interior I have no clue. Same as house, she is inside I am outside! )
