very nice!!!!!! congrats...... Only 9 days ago!!
Glad to see BMW storing car inside. I went to Knights in Stafford with a mate and a '60 plate F10 was left in the yard with bird crap all over the bonnet :-( Are you going for Supagard? GAP Insurance? If so, who are you getting the policy from? |

Congrats! Only nine days to go!
Is that Xirallic Grey? How come the kidney grilles are silver. I thought that was only for 6 cyl engines?

With the F10 there is no exterior difference between a 520d, 525d, 530d, 523i and 528i. Silver grill and twin exhaust. The 535i and 550i have different exhausts.

You will get the lower parts of the dash in Beige than in Black. Also the color gives a roomy & live impression than in black (that's how I feel). Challenge will be to keep that tidy, so I got the Leather Protection applied (£250) and All weather floor mats in black, hope they will do the job. VDC - No I did not, but I got the sports box - there was a slight confusion when ordering, sales guy was telling me I will get VDC if I order the Sports box, but will that be added for the extra £110 over the normal box? I don't think so... ![]() Last edited by joy5; 08-23-2010 at 05:20 AM.. |

![]() It's Sophisto Grey Xirallic. I think on 3 series, the grills are different over 4/6 cylinders. In 5, you have the option of all black or all silver as standard. |

Superguard - I don't think so, but potentially the Short Fall (gap) insurance. BMW quoted me £249 for 3 years/£10,000, cost can be spread over 12 months interest free payments. Do you know any better quote? Although I never had a puncture in the last 7 years, I have a gut feeling I should go for the Tyre Insurance. I think BMW provide something like 3 years cover for £349. Any advise very much appreciated? |

PS it's only £165 before discount for £20k cover which would address the expected depreciation by year 3. Last edited by archivedaccount; 08-23-2010 at 06:40 AM.. |

I would STRONGLY encourage you to consider GAP insurance from other reputable providers or at least haggle withe BMW for a substantial discount. You can look at AXA, Fortis, Global Insurance Management. They all have retail arms that sell policies under various guises, including Surf and Protect, SureWarranty, etc Also ALA Gap Insurance also has some good feedback. A quick google search will show up a few good results. Ensure the company is backed by a large insurance company (like AXA for instance), is UK and FSA registered. If an insurance company is FSA registered is has to demonstrated that it can actually payout in the event of valid claim. Tyre Insurance is worth going for but ultimately it depends on your mileage. If you do more than 15,000 a year, you will get your money back. |

When you do take delivery, I'd be grateful for any comments you have on ride quality without VDC and the other expensive suspension options ... |
