Choice Advice
I currently have a 09 Z4 35 with Dinan update 2. Also a 08 X6 35. I want to trade in my X6. I have negative equity and know I have to deal with that. My dealer has offered me some amazing price opporunities and wanted some thoughts on my choices.
535xi, 550xi, x5m, x6m, x5 50, x6 50. They are all loaded, nav, CA, premium audio, tech, sport, cameras. Don't need rear entertainment. All will have rear seat heaters and cold climate package. My base line need is AWD and the 5 will have folding rear seats to transport cargo easily. I know the basic arguments, that the 5 has less storage, better mileage and the Ms......well, they're Ms, enough said. The x5m, while having awesome power, plenty of cargo, room for 5 and killer looks, is also disgusting on mileage. That's not a huge concern for me as I do split my driving between the 2 cars. Bottom line, I can't go wrong with any of these, but wanted some other opinions. Please chime in. BTW, for those interested, the price difference for all of these is less than 250/mo finance at current rates of 1.9 and 3.9, including what I owe on my x6 and no money down. Thanks for your thoughts.

Are these LEASE or BUY opportunities?
I'd probably BUY a 5-series now (535xi is most practical; 550xi might have same long-term engine maintenance requirements due to turbo). I like the X5, and hate the X6. You couldn't give me one. Regarding the m's - I would go with a 550xi before I'd get an M anything.

These are purchases, not leases. I drove the X6 50 tonight. Wow. The exhaust was more powerful than the X5M I drove. I thought the performance was fantastic too, both on the highway and in town. So, based on a few factors, I think I've narrowed my choices to X6 50 and 550xi, although the X5 50 is also viable.

personally i would get an X5 50i. i would get the x5 since you have a z4 already and you can use that on nice days and quick commutes. i see you live in NJ and the x5 would be great on those snowy or icy winter days. if i didnt have the z4 i would either go with the 535ix or 550ix, depending on what type of driving you like to do. part of me would want the 550ix for that v8.

Your comments about the superior storage of the X cars surprises me. Have you actually *seen* the trunk of the F10? It's fookin' huge! Since you're in NJ I'll put it in terms that you can understand: you can fit three bodies back there without folding! If you have some real problems, you could get 6 back there if you don't mind stacking them. X6? Two bodies, tops.
I keed. I was born in Jersey myself and I know that not everyone who lives there is Tony Soprano. Seriously, I don't get the attraction of these SAVs. Lousy ride, lousy mileage, not as spacious as you'd think, and very expensive. And in the case of the X6, ugly!
