5er questions before order..
Just before I pull on a 6speed 550i loaded with everything except for the night vision the trigger need some quick insight:
1) I miss the days of Active Steering - will IAS be the same? 2) I was thinking of waiting for the 6er but I miss 4 doors just for the sake of having four, don't know why. I have a feeling the 6er will not offer me that much more interior space that I am longing for, comments? 3) Anybody have Alcantara liner on the roof the car, whats the cost of this? Thanks Joe

One more buying tip - I dealt with Downtown Toronto and got about 6% off the MSRP. Every dealer I had spoken to will give 3% as standard discount (without opeining my mouth).

Thanks so much for that information. I will do my best to get the right deal. Looks like BMW Canada is moving away from rear wheel drive (big time) so if I am ever going to get a performer, now will be the time. Cheers and chat soon.

as far as the 6 goes, are you a family man or travel with a lot of people? if not, then i would go with the 6. the 6 is supposed to get redesigned soon if i am not mistaken, i am not sure how soon though.

135i and K1300R? You've got some power rockets there with great handling! It will be a totally different experience with the 550i. I love the the new 5 series, I think they are gorgeous, definitely spend an hour driving one.
In terms of space, the 6er did not offer much rear space, and I don't think the new one from the pictures I have seen does anything to add more rear space. If you're becoming a family man and want the rear space, the 6er isn't going to give you that. I've found the 135 more fun to drive than a 6 series, but that's just personal opinion. |
