Side mirrors on ED 550i

I noticed when I took Welt delivery of my 550i that the side mirrors were the same as the non US models, magnified outer sections with a dotted line at about the last quater part of the mirror, so you can see an approaching car a bit better. I thought both mirrors had this feature (which i really like) but cant remember if the driver side was the same as the passenger side. When I took re-delivery, I noticed that the right mirror still had the dotted line, but the magnification was missing and the driver side mirror had no lines and no magnification also, the right hand mirror does not have that annoying little message "objects appear closer than they really are" or some crap like that.

Has anyone else in the US who did ED have this happen and can anyone in Germany with an F10 please send a pic or let me know if the magnified section of the side mirrors are on both the driver and passenger sides. Comments are welcome on this BTW.

I tried to buy Euro mirrors for my E92 (which, like the F10, has stylish but small side mirrors). Unfortunately, the replacement mirror glass was (to me, anyway) prohibitively expensive. I think it's all the heating, autodimming, etc. that makes them so. But in 2008 my car as delivered in Munich had the standard US flat glass.

I would kill for those mirrors. I currently have aspherical/blue tinted mirrors on my Passat and love them!!!! Eliminates need for the blind spot indicator option. Anybody know of a source for these for the F10??

Here are pictures of the mirrors of my F10 550i.
It is a german car picked up in Munich 4 weeks ago.
I got the dotted lines on both mirrors but no warning message!
Hope it is visible on the images!

Bingo. Thank you The German! These were the mirrors that were on my car at the Welt, I now have a US spec mirror on the driver's side and the Euro spec mirror on the passenger's side. Ugh. Can you tell me if the far side of each mirror is aspheric (magnified)?

Yes, the far side of each mirror is aspheric!
I think it has something to do with different laws in Germany and the US!

Anyone willing to part with a pair or tell me where I can purchase 'em. How would I go about purchasing them from a German dealer? Maybe someone who is planning on ED will be willing to buy me a pair should I pay them in advance for them????
