Must have options/packages for the new F10?

Please give me your valuable input, why you feel that option/package is indispensable.

1. 35d engine - sublime and effortless power, great economy.
2. Sport auto - seamless auto changes, very responsive in manual override.
3. Adaptive drive/VDC - chose the ride to suit your mood and road surface.
4. Xenon adaptive lights - see around the corner before you get there.
5. Comfort seats + lumbar + heating - no more back aches.
6. Pro satnav - big screen, easy to use.
7. Split/fold rear seats - huge space.
8. DAB radio - works very well in the UK.
The F10 is, in most respects, an extremely good car, BUT there are issues with the steering. It's very good provided you're making a positive cornering input, especially in sport mode, but it feels rather vague on-centre and you have to make too many corrections just to keep it in a straight line.
Make sure you take an extensive test drive before you buy.

Well in Europe you guys have options that here are standard, like the Xenon adaptive lights (which are spectacular) and vice-versa.

So I concur with the lights, and I personally had to get the comfort seats (which here included lumbar) as I found the standard seat unacceptable.

The split/fold seats are great if you need the room, but I wouldn't call them indispensable unless you routinely haul long items (I buy lots of lumber).

Cruise control with stop and go is awesome, especially with HUD.

I wish I had ordered both options. Instead I went with fewer options and the bigger engine. I feel the following options are essential:

Sport automatic transmission
Heated Seats (Depending on where you live)
Park Distance Control
Xenon
Navigation Pro

You would be disappointed without the Folding Door Mirrors...

Forgot about that; you're absolutely right - I have them and they're really handy in tight spaces.

I also have to agree with the folding mirrors, I use then everytime i put the car in a carpark space.......This car almost fills the carpark spaces in the UK and would hate to come back and find the mirrors smashed or scratched......this is money well spent up front.

I don't think folding mirrors is an option for cars in the U.S.

Fold-in exterior mirrors are standard on the Canadian versions.

That's bizarre. If any country needs folding exterior mirrors it's the U.K. The parking spaces and garages are rediculously small! And would you believe I have to fold my mirrors in to negotiate my way down some narrow roads with uncoming traffic?

There's enough space in North American and Canadian parking spaces to park a bus!

Believe me we have many people who can't even come close to parking a skateboard between the lines, let alone a car.

I am really liking the top view cameras when parking. I also am using the blind spot detection feature more than I expected.

From a distance, the folding door mirror provides a visual check on whether if the car is locked too

Not so; there's nothing to stop you folding the mirrors on the button and closing the door without locking it.

Depends the way you operate them.

I usually do not fold the mirrors using the button inside. I always do lock the car until the mirrors are folded - in that way I sometime check if I have locked the car.

Re: the UK car parks, I too find it very difficult to park in most of them - my 2nd kid is just 4 weeks now, so I have a bit of a chance using the "Baby & Toddler" bays, but not they are available everywhere.

Looks like in the UK we have to pay for many things that are standard elsewhere

Well - yes, hence my earlier statement .
A more reliable visual indication might be to look for the blinking red light under the rear-view mirror.
