New to BMW

Love the forum and love the enthusiasm people show here.

I am interested in purchasing a 550i. It's going to be my first BMW ever and my first build-to-order as well. I would appreciate it if you guys could answer the following questions:

1) Does the dealer give a loaner during the wait for the car to be built?

2) Can the black rear diffuser that comes with M-sport be painted to Alpine White?

3) Do you guys suggest to replace the RFT tires with normal ones as soon as they wear out? Would the car lose its sportiness by replacing them?

4) When negotiating the deal, Do I pay, for example, $1000 above invoice for the base price or the invoice for the car with options included?

That's it for now. Thanks.

1) No loaner while car is being built

2) Diffuser comes a shiny plastic material. If you want AW you can bring it to local body shop to paint. Dont' let BMW charge you an arm and leg

3) Yes if it's a purchase. if you lease they want it back with RFT.

4) I've heard of a lot of people getting $1000 over invoice her in CA

Welcome to the family!

I would stick with run-flats when the initial set wears out. RFT tires are fine and the F10 is tuned for them. Plus there is no place for a non-RFT spare other than to lay it in your trunk.

The performance would actually be better without the RFT. I would buy a set of better cheaper non RFT and use the difference to buy a mobility kit which comes with everything that you would need to get going in case of a flat. You'll have money left over and better longer lasting tires to boot.
