Check list - Before signing BMWFS lease papers
Hello,
I am getting delivery of my new 2011 535i after 3 weeks and want to know if such a check list exist. I want to make sure that whatever numbers were agreed upon after putting down the deposit are there and NO SURPRISES.. In my opinion, I should be more careful with the monthly payment amount and should drive & inspect the car in daylight. Should I be checking anything else? Can somebody post a blank lease papers (if already posted please let me know the link. I hope,IMHO, this is a reasonable request to ask for) so that I can review before actually signing at the dealership? Thanks a LOT. B |

I'll bet you a dollar that if you call your salesman and ask him for a blank contract so that you can review it, he will be more than happy to do so. I don't know why people won't do that more often (ask the salesman for stuff). He wants to close the deal and will do whatever it takes, you know, within reason. And that's a reasonable request.
There should be no surprises at delivery. You have numbers? They should agree. If they don't, then either someone made a legitimate mistake or they are trying to rip you off. If it's the latter, then walk away. There is no stronger bargaining position. They've probably promised you only two numbers - the main ones - how much is due at signing (this should include all prepays and fees) and the monthly payment. They can play with the other numbers all they want, but if they do, that will effect one of those other numbers, and you'll know about it. Enjoy the new 5!

Always check the math. The auto lease agreements state that the only numbers that count is in the lease agreement which is the monthly payment. All the math and rates that got you there don't count. Dealers routinely make math errors in their favor. I saved someone $5k this summer on her lease from a sponsor at Bimmerfest on a Euro Delivery deal.

Can you critique the Owner's Choice/Lease deal for me PLEASE.
Thanks a LOT. you guys are REALLY and this forum
I know this deal SOUNDS good but Let me run the numbers by you any way. Please critique. 535i MSRP = $64625 Sales price = $59200 (after $1500 Holiday rebate) TTL = $4120.24 (since I am in Texas) Total amount financed = $83470.24 Owner's Choice Terms 12K 36 months $0 down Monthly payment = $956.52 Residual = $37482.50 ( = 58% of MSRP) how much did I pay over the invoice? I hope the dealer made a nice profit (because he was grumbling saying "there is NO meat on this" or shall I say made a passing comment/remark.). How much the dealership profit is? Thanks a LOT in advance. B |

He lied. Two good places to check is leasecompare.com and Edmunds.com with the True Market Value.
Each site lists dealer invoice and retail. In the end, if you're happy with the car, that's all that matters, but don't believe the bull. He wouldn't have sold it to you without a profit. |

"He wouldn't have sold it to you without a profit." - I agree, what he/she meant is the profit in this case is NOT as big as if it was sold at MSRP., "In the end, if you're happy with the car, that's all that matters" - Yup, Agree.
