Low battery warning

I had a yellow ! Low battery warning on my idrive this morning after putting in some gas. I drove with the warning for 5 mins and parked it to do what I had to do and the warning went away after restarting the car afterward. Do you guys think it is a false alarm or should I get it checked at the dealer? I use the car every day and the car is too new for a dead battery :/

Yes. I think it's worth checking out at the dealer. If you use the car everyday, it's not normal to have battery problems...

Had mine replaced with less than 500 miles on the car. They do fail and/or come out of the factory with defects. It took BMW two days to finally decide to change the battery.

I have also read that symbol appears when the software of the car was left by the dealer in "transport" mode from the factory.

Justine...same symptoms as yours, yellow light on dash and low battery warning. In addition, it wouldn't start the second morning after I purchased it. The dealership charged it up but it happened again in about a week. They finally kept it in the shop for two days to run tests to force it to fail so they could replace the battery. They had to open a "PUMA" case on it before BMW would replace the battery.

i will monitor it for a few days.. but it seems to be performing ok for the moment.. finger crossed. hopefully it's just a false alarm. thanks for the inputs.

now this makes me feel better! i have it on mine for couple weeks already, the car starts fine everyday but its just annoying to see the warning light

finally took it in yesterday to the dealership and they are still trying to figure out whats wrong.
