For those of you that have driven in snow:

how do the OEM all-seasons ride in the snow with xdrive?

I have the eagle LS2 all season run flats on my 550i and my car felt like a tank in the snow today.

Car drives great in snow.. I was able to drive through almost one foot of snow without a problem while other cars were getting stuck in the same path.

+1

I was pleasantly surprised how well mine handled in the snow and ice a few weeks back

I take back what I said earlier. The car sucks in anything more than 2 inches of snow with the all seasons. Get winter tires.

I test drove a 535xi MSport with the 19" 351 style wheels and I believe the Goodyear "Excellence" tires.

It was a very cold winter day in Canada and there had been about 4" snow the night before. The traction was very good indeed. Bordering on Blizzak traction (both starting and stopping). I know this because I drove away from the dealer after the test drive in my wife's Honda Odyssey with Blizzaks and felt if anything the BMW gripped better. And I'm talking about stopping too.

Now it should be borne in mind that all season tires can be very good in the first 10k miles or so, but I have observed in Canada that after 1 summer on all seasons the snow/ice performance drops off dramatically. That being the case, I am counting on them being good for one winter only.

My 535xi arrives in February, unless I upgrade to a 550xi, which would arrive in March/April. Either way, I'm not counting on these tires to be safe enough for winter 2011/2012.
