Nav system and traffic conditions
Wondering if there is an option I need to adjust in order for my navigation map to show traffic conditions. By this I mean the Red, Yellow and Green highlights along the highway to indicate traffic congestion. I have been given traffic warnings (accidents for example) while on a guidance route, but never any general congestion information. I have a friend with a Lexus and one with an Acura and both of their cars provide the feature. Do we just not have it in the BMW or do I need to click something in the options to bring it up? Having an idea of how bad traffic is moving is a great help when living in LA!

I am not in my vehicle just now but recall it is not easy to find.
Have you tried the yellow triangle at the left of the map screen and then 'settings for map view' / 'traffic info map'? there is a write-up on this in the owners manual as well as some guidance in the iDrive / vehicle info selection

I'll try that today. I did look through the owners manual in the car and it does mention the green, yellow, orange and red highlights on the route...but says "Some cars" before that and "depending on map view". So I guess I'll have to play with it a bit more and see what I can figure out.
