I don't like the new look of front at all, ie zagged kidney grills, squared "eyes", that added line from lights to kidneys - it ruins the soft lines... Glad I did get the MY2013...

What engines will be offered in the states?
all the rumors made it seem like the N55 successor will debut in the 4 series coupe and the LCI 5 but recent VIN searches doesn't seem to suggest that being true anymore. Alan

I have to say the front end below the grill looks terrible!

lol... I think we are getting a bit out of hand with all the safety crap that goes into these things nowadays. By 2020 a 5er will weigh 5500lbs at the rate we're going with all the air bags and radars and anti-ICBM laser arrays they are adding each year.

I have a 2010 F10 520d Auto which is my second 5 series (previous was an 520d Auto E61). Since getting my car through my Company car scheme in October 2010 my Employer has brought in a ridiculous new scheme limiting all new cars to 'Band C' (120kg CO emissions or less). As I only want to get an auto I'm currently considering a 320d M-Sport because all of the 3 series auto's come in under 120. The current F10 as you will all know only offers the 520 ED manual with lower emissions than 120.
My question, probably for Ynguldyn who seems to have a lot of detail about the new engine.... Will any of the new engines 518d/520d Auto on the F10 and F11 fall below the 120kg CO emission level which is Band C in the UK? I deally I'd like a 520d F11 when I change again later this year but would be happy with a 520d F10 auto like I have now. The current 520d Auto is only just over at 123kg so they don't have a long way to go?

I don't know, so this is just a guess ,but I'd put money on it.
I've not seen any performancefigures yet for this 518d but I suspect it's not going to very quick. Thats fine though if that doesn't bother you and I'm sure it'll be fine for travelling up the motorways all day and no doubt it will be very economical (if not pushed) but I suspect like with any smaller power engine that you'll end up pushing it more just to keep up with the performance of other cars and its potential economy will suffer as result. Real world I suspect its economy will be hardly any better than a 520d. We shall see. |

Don't particularly fancy a 518, my hope is that the 520 comes in under 120 co emissions and keeps it reasonable power. As mentioned in other posts, I work for the fire service so the car is used under blue light conditions. For use in and around London both of my 2.0 Diesel 5 series have been more than adequate. Although fuel economy obviously suffers using an auto under those conditions.

Talking about bluelights , Ive seen a few police F10s now. They are debadged so not sure what engine they are using - I'd guess they might be 530d possibly? good compromise of power / economy. But don't know for sure what they have.

Does anyone know how early you can build an order in the US for the 2014 July production?
My Lease is up in June and I may extend to get the latest and greatest 535i but would like to know what the packages and options are before choosing between a 2013 or a 2014 535i. |

If the interior options are the same I'll probably go with oyster/black in nappa (I don't like the dakota). It's going to be a pain keeping clean, but I want something with contrast rather than going with black.

With that said, I'd pay $1k for Nappa, but not $5k for Merino. |

Eagerly waiting for possible new interior and exterior colours. Hopefully Saddle Brown will be available in nappa.
If things don't change I think I am going for Imperial Blue on Oyster/Black Nappa. I have only had cars with dark interior and would like to have something else. Actually my last three cars were silver on black... My current temp is Sophisto Grey on Cinnamon; will never both of them in whatever combo. Doesn't come out well IRL.
