The interior is stunning, love the guage cluster and the new gps placement similar to the 7!

I like that the 'check engine' light was lit up.

Interior looks superb otherwise.

Wow - BMW has really outdone themselves with this one. This is exactly the quality you expect a BMW to be. I'm amazed at the attention and detail put into it. I thought the current E90 interior was great but man this just takes the cake. Bravo!

Also, why is the DTC button now a sliding car? I guess a lot of people didn't know what DTC meant

Has BMW finally switched over to a keyless ignition like Lexus?

But still...huge improvment over the last generation...i actually got a seven because the 5er interior was really poorly designed and not luxurious enough. I miss the wave like design over the idrive screen though.
i completely disagree, that was the reason i didn't get navi in my 335, because dash looks very empty with navi... 5 series interior is perfect

looks like a very high quality interior, it looks very nice. The only thing I didnt like is that it doesnt bring the flashlight in the glovebox, this is a BMW signature element that is very useful, and they should not get rid of it for cost cutting. IMO

Oh and I love how they actually finished the silver circle in the tachometer, it looks a LOT better than the one in the 7 series.

If the 5 has "clear orientation to the driver in the cockpit" why is that leather "swoosh" not on the other side? Visually, it's biased towards the passenger and creates a sense of separation from the driver side.

They had it right on the current 5, the 6 and the Z4. Why the switch?
what exactly are you referring to? you left me wondering.

Yeah, not sure. The only driver-oriented stuff aesthetics I'm seeing is dash angle pointing towards the driver like the previous-gen 3-series, though it is much more subtle.

give it to me all in one streamlined and quick touchscreen interface. I hate the idrive, and i dislike the massive amounts of buttons. A nice clean 9'' LED that can be like the "control panel" of the car would suffice.

Touchscreens are horrible since they force you to take your eyes off the road.

The iDrive interface is perfect the way it is.

wasn't really following the post about the leather on the wrong side but after seeing those pictures i 100% agree.

also...all those buttons on the steering wheel and no dedicated track/channel change???? am i missing something? maybe cause its a european/canadian model (just assuming b/c of the °C temperature and what looks like a rear fog light switch)

Finally digital temperature displays for climate control. I might actually consider buying one now.
