Spied: BMW 5 Series LCI M Sport and Interior w/ iDrive Touch + New Steering Wheel
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW F10 5 Series LCI M Sport and Interior Spied w/ iDrive Touch + New Steering Wheel Sure, we've already seen the F10 LCI basically revealed (at least for the front end updates), but this is the first look we get at the M Sport LCI model as well as the LCI interior. The interior shows the new iDrive Touch system and new M Sport steering wheel, which resembles the F30 3 Series M Sport steering wheel. The exterior doesn't show much changes to the M Sport bumper except perhaps a new foglight housing. This prototype also features a trunk spoiler (as standard?). As we've mentioned previously, mechanical changes will include updated steering and the N63Tu engine (445hp / 480 lb-ft) for the 550i. Production for the F10 LCI begins this July, with deliveries starting in August/September. Via auto.sohu.com. |

I can't see a damn bit of difference with all that camo on. Can anyone else spot anything new as far as the m-sport body work goes?

That's the M6 wheel that will be standard on the new M5's going forward.

The lower part of the front bumper looks pretty much the same, but the fogs looks weird.
So far I don't regret ordering the pre-lci f10.

It's still hard to tell but the steering wheel looks like the new 3 series Msport one. I'm probably going to jump on a new Msport replica when it's out.

The Corona rings look squared like the 6 series headlights.

Also, those look like sport seats rather than the comfort seats. Maybe the M-sport will now have sport seats standard instead of the comfort seats, which will be an upgrade.

'Square' headlights means adaptive LED headlights.
These are indeed the sport seats but having driven both sport -and comfort seats the comfort seats are 100x better. In Holland we pay a €800 premium on sportseats compared to the standard seats (which are crap) and a whoppy €2200 premium on comfort seats. But worth every dime!

I love BMW in this day and age where makers like M-B are trying to make the quick buck by drastically changing their vehicles for mere facelifts, ruining the timeless value and future regard of their designs, sans harmony or long term careful brand protection.
BMW keeping the M Sport so similar is a great testament as to how the INSIDERS regard these cars. You can look at is as they don't want to "mess with perfection", while Mercedes and the like do the opposite. Keeping the M Sport so identical shows they perceive it as a classic which was designed right the first time! Bravo. |
