BMW has published official photos and information on the new BMW M5 (F10) last week [Official Thread HERE], and today we're happy to share the very first video of the fully unveiled production M5 in action!

As BMW says, "this is the fifth generation of the BMW M5. It comes with a world premiere: a newly developed high-revving 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo package. It's a perfect combination of a sports car and a business car. BMW also significantly improved the balance between performance and fuel consumption. But let's stop talking and watch this exceptional BMW M car..."

Stay tuned for more informaton on and photos of the F10 M5 later this week from its Thursday night (German time) public reveal at the M Festival @ the Nurburgring. Also, be sure to register at M-Power.com if you haven't yet.

beautiful car, but they should have given it closer to 600hp and the engine sounds boring.

"Expected but not welcome.... No more over 8,000 RPM :-("

I’m tiered of people whining about the red line. Did you guys just become BMW fans over the last 6-8 years?? Every M engine before 200x did not rev over 8K. High revving is not the norm it was the exception. It was a small era and now it is over due to political and enviornmental factors. If this comes as a shock to you, you must live under a rock.

I'm sorry but my dd Toyota Camry revs higher than your 335i.
Does that mean my Camry is faster than the 335i?

+1
In my E39 M5 I never felt I needed to be able rev the engine higher than 7K. And I'm very glad they designed it (and the F10) for more torque versus high revs and no torque. I was disappointed when the E60 1st came out and it had 100 more Hp, but no increase in torque.

Looks like the M Division may be doing a pre-drive event like they did for the 1M.

I really don't understand why so many people seem to think that each new generation of M5 needs 90+ more horsepower than the predecessor. Will they expect 700bhp for the 6th generation model? Eventually, all that horsepower will cause a car to be un-streetable without some stability and/or traction control aides intervening. Is it just about bragging rights, or do most buyers have the talent to wield all that power on the track?

+1 I think 560hp is plenty for a DD. And I am SURE there will be a million remaps out for the ECU and people will be pushing 700hp on stock turbos. I think the horsepower argument needs to just stop at this point.

You guys have to realize that the new M5 is going to be the HIGHEST HORSEPOWER SEDAN in the WORLD when it comes out (except for the bentley continental flying spur speed, but that's almost triple the price and almost 1500 pounds heavier)... I don't understand why anyone would complain about that.

I do wish the new M5 would be a screamer like the e60, but the world is changing guys and nothing is going to be a high rev monster anymore save for some exotics.
