Hey fellow members! anyone get this message? i got it ever since i removed the carpets to vacuum them and got this message after i put them back. When i went to the gym this error message came up when i started the car. i did everything the manual told me to do to reset it but no go any tips or anyone encounter this and able to fix this?

Check the connection since you were moving things around in that area.

No I tried all the reset multiple times still pops up every time I turn the car on and off it's annoying as all hell

Same here! Annoying to see that yellow exclamation icon on the dash. and i tried to reset it multiple times. I don't want to disconnect and reconnect any plugs under the seat because a lot of times if you do it'll throw another code just for that and you'll have to take it to the dealer to reset everything which I'm sure there's a charge for that

Yeah I'm a little disappointed there's not atleast a way to reset or clear the light.

And the annoying pop up on start up and shut off...

Does your seat work okay?

Mine functions with no issues still stores all the saved positions so not to sure what the problem is

yep...functions properly with no issues whatsoever

I wouldn't unplug anything I would make sure everything have solid connection you may have loose harness Good Luck

weird...all i did was remove my carpets to vacuum them. do you guys know if the carpets have a sensor on them and maybe they're off center when i put them back in?

I was able to perform the seat normalisation function. It is located in the MENU: Vehicle Management -> Service Function -> Body -> Safety Functions -> Seat Adjustment Normalisation.

i'll see if this works but i don't recall the menu features mentioned

I was told (no way of telling you this is reliable info) that airbag functionality may be affected by this warning. Can't exactly recall, but something to do about distance of the seat from the airbags not being calculated properly in case things go wrong.

Mine came up few years ago, when I moved the seats to extremes in every direction and height in order to clean the car. Dealer reset it at the time, it was still under warranty.

Glad to see you got it fixed, just thought I'd bring this up, so someone can clarify or perhaps not simply ignore it in the future.

Haven't got it fixed yet. I'll try resetting it again. The car went into the dealer a couple weeks back for a recall and they didn't even mention anything about it.

still displayed but my buddy was able to clear his with his program. he'll clear mine when we do the oil change on my car probably next month

Closing the loop here - I had the seat calibration message and tried calibrating both front seats by moving them all the way in each direction. I also tried moving them all the way forward and then pushing the button again. Neither method worked and the message returned after start-up. I tried this a few times.

I brought the car to the dealer today and they said they lubed the seat rails and had to perform the calibration 4 times for the message to clear. I could not get a coherent answer on the calibration method they used from the service writer. They charged for one hour of labor @ $156. plus tax and other BS fees for a total of $186.

i'm just gonna have my buddy code it out when i do my oil change here

Yeah, almost $200. to clear what seems like a bogus message (the seats operate as normal) is not helping sell more BMWs.
