This is true, and at his peak he wasn’t even as good as Max has been in the last few years and Max is nowhere near his peak yet. The talent that has come in the last 7 years since Max and Lec came on and the subsequent group with them, are easily the most talented we have seen since 2005. The talent pool in those years between 2005 and 2016 was nowhere near the level of where the sun 30 year old drivers are today.

Max has been just ok last year, and there was nothing special about 2023 when Mediocre Perez took second over everyone. 2022 was his only legitimate win and it came with a dominant car.

If 2024 is any indication, Max peak is past him and it wasn’t that impressive to be honest.
