Wifey is baking oatmeal raisin cookies for a cookie exchange at her office. I get to enjoy a few and savor the delicious aroma in the house for a day or so.

We got a "free" bread maker from the casino. Just the basic water, sugar, salt, flour, yeast and 2.5 hours later there is this wonderful little loaf of bread, all warm and begging for butter.
If I show the wife how it works, I'm going to get fat(ter)

My wife baked a dozen Spinach & Shiitake Mushroom Bread Puddings (sourdough bread, shallots, leek, parmesan reggiano and Le Gruyère cave aged cheese. Enjoyed two for dinner with a blackened salmon and Petite Sirah. (The balance of the bread puddings went to the freezer).

Last night I did the 3rd loaf in a new bread maker. Simple water/sugar/salt/flour/yeast, but I go out into the garden and grab a handful of rosemary and smash it up and add to the flour.
I got a bit late start on making it yesterday, so waited until I heard it "IDNG" then served my bowl of soup and cut that stuff still smoking hot, slathered in butter. Actually had 2 thick slices. Sorry, no pics even considered during the munching.

Fresh out of the oven!
50% dark rye, 50% white all purpose unbleached. My normal bake. It has been a while since I baked bread. Looking forward to breakfast tomorrow! ![]() |

Pissaladière!
Excellent French "pizza". Made with my usual pizza dough (50% semolina rimacinata, 50% all purpose white unbleached), caramelized onions, anchovies and olives. First time making this for me, and it was great. Recipe from Bruno Albouze on yt. Pissaladière can be made with a soft focaccia-like crust (like this one), a thin cracker crust or with pastry dough. |
