Front-picture BMW 5 series GT / PAS first time with only minor hard-casing
Seems that 5 series GT / PAS unmasks slowly...but still some minor hard-casing left to the lights and front-grill...

Is this supposed to be the PAS nose being tested on a donor car body? It looks to me like beyond the hood is a standard looking 3 series sedan. Mirrors, head rests... the character line through the door handles...
If it is a 3 series that it's attached to, would the PAS nose really fit? Since it's based on the 5-series, I would have thought that it's a lot wider than a 3.

Hey guys. Im from the same dealership where the first pictures of the 2009 Z4 were leaked. The PAS sedan was there also, just there wasn't anyone brave enough to take pics .To give you guys a heads up the PAS is built off of the 2009 7 series platform and will be a result of and X6 and a 7 series having a baby. I would think you guys would have figured this out by now because the kidneys are they same as the 7 series. Well nice talking you guys.

other things about it weren't interesting. Especially the back was the same hard-cover than we all know for months...took some pics from the f10, x6 active hybrid and x6m too, but nothing new either, so why put them online?...didn't even take pics of the f01 v12 or mini colorado...

The big kidneys may be due to things like public opinion, which is not always the same as what people on this board think, and the Euro pedestrian safety regulations that dictate a more bulbous front-end. Audi started down this path a couple of years ago and at first I hated the huge "shield" grills, but I've grown to like them. I now look at older Audis with the flat strip grill and think they look dated. It may be that many will look back at the current smaller BMW kidneys and think the same thing.

I'm still convinced that the photo is of an e90-based test car. If the PAS is based on the 5 or 7, there is no way that the front end would fit on the e90. From what I can tell, there also isn't any camo on anything past the hood on that car, which would be hidden on something with a new silhouette like the PAS.
I think that this is either an early test mule for a 3-series-based variant, possibly related to the next generation of 3 series, or maybe even testing for a new powerplant for the current generation 3 series (it's a stretch, but hybrid testing in the 3?). The hood looks high, the nose square and ride height looks high, from what little I can see. Unless the PAS is based on a 3, I don't think that this is it. If I'm interpreting the image incorrectly, please show me how.

I don't think the front grills are gonna be exactly the same size as we see on the
mule car! I don't think the final product is gonna be that big. Not to long ago if you guys remember the new 7er Mule car had the exact same HUGE front cover just to throw people off to whats to come. Quote:
I agree with you. Has the Same characteristics as a 3 series. Mirrors, head rests and the line through the door handles... Could this be the next generation 3 Series??? What is the PAS exactly going to be? Something in the Middle of a 3 & 5? Is there more info on this?
