Rolling it just press the throttle and off you go specially with xHP stage 3 trans tune, with stand still if you just push car without launch control or launch at 3k rpm the car just lags until 30mph than picks up like a rocket. I wish there was a way to counter this issue, because I dont know if I want to keep doing launch control everytime I have someone who want to race me from stop light. On stop watch I did like 4.8seconds 0 to 60 without launch control, that is a lot of lag for my taste lol. I need to try 1 foot roll 0-60, I think last time I got 4seconds flat doing that but didnt time it. Maybe stock intercooler with meth haha, but I would hate to do meth.

Funny cause I thought about going back to stock fmic. Wish there was an in between fmic from stock and Wagner. The next step is I get tuned for 600wtq with my clutch setup and see if that spools the PS2 faster to compensate but that doesn't happen until I address fueling.
My guess would be that the sweet spot for the street is a PS1 and a medium size fmic. Also I'm 6MT so no trans tune for me.

I guess that part wasnt kept in mind when Wagner or VRSF created FMIC for our car or maybe because of how these cars intake routing sucks it was required to have big FMIC to keep air temps as close to ambient as possible. Roll race is the best way for me right now or unless VRSF comes up with a smaller FMIC and allows trade. I wouldnt mind losing couple hundred dollars for better performance tbh. I think PS2 is fine for street as well as long we have right size FMIC to not cause big delay, as I am happy with the power PS2 provided vs PS1 would require extra fueling mods. Though I bet you can get PS1 and extra fueling mods for around same price as PS2 alone and get same power out as PS2 on just regular octane. I am also on 93 oct vs your 91 oct. Not sure what PR coils would do for turbo lag with big FMIC though I did look into it at one point. What intercooler are you running? |

Man, you guys are killing my buzz - just got my Wagner delivered and waiting to put it on. The lag sounds like a bummer, but I guess my bms pedal tune will help. Good to hear that it isn't an issue for $howtime...crossing my fingers.

Problem is I paid 400 for inlet pipe for turbo. If the intake thing came out on time than I wouldnt had to pay for that shit. From design it looks like the intake pipe goes directly into the turbo.

I had the aFe intake and I had a cel saying that my car was running too lean. I had to warm the car for a few minutes before taking off or else the car would try to turn off. I put back the oem one with a k&n drop in filter and now my car runs perfect.

So I just went back to read the beginning of the thread. Are you saying its not worth upgrading the IC because of.the lag? What about for us guys with stock turbos?

That's the impression I got. From what I gathered, it takes longer to "fill" the larger IC which induces lag. This is my 1st turbo car and the only "lag" I feel is the transmission downshift. I think BMW did a good job of reducing/eliminating lag with the twin-scroll design.

I will try to answer all questions in one reply lol.
Lag only exist from stop and if I push the throttle 100 percent. If I use launch control than there is no issues. I think to combat this lag issue I might have to get in touch with showtime soon and get the intake pipe he got. From roll there is no lag at all. xHP also fixes issues with down/upshifts as they are super quick. I am not sure why images aren't loading but they are loading fine for me on my computer and on my android device. Here are datazap of recent pulls that I had to provide to my tuner: 3rd gear pull: https://datazap.me/u/ziekxq/3rd-gear...og=0&data=4-17 4th gear pull: https://datazap.me/u/ziekxq/4th-gear...og=0&data=4-17 3rd to 4th gear pull: https://datazap.me/u/ziekxq/3rd-4th-...og=0&data=4-17 I am getting some timing corrections causing me to lose boost... I think I will try switching from .020 gap to .018 to see if that helps. Youtube videos: 3rd gear pull: 4th gear pull: These pulls were just for testing... if I did 40 to 80mph using 2nd gear the car is much faster and same for 2nd to 4th for 40 to 100mph. I hear ya! With my Integra I had a smaller turbo so it spooled quickly but my intercooler was a medium size which worked well with my setup. Definitely brought down the IAT's. I'm gonna research and see if anyone went with an aftermarket radiator cause that would help especially with constant hard pulls. Funny how back than having turbo timers were a must but nowadays it's not needed with today's factory turbos
