Dinan is a California company. Ca gov is cracking down on companies in CA making / selling non compliant products. Dinan was purchased by magnaflow I believe and they have a lot more liability now for making such products and chose to discontinue them instead.

Dinan probably thought it was too mainstream and high profile to hide behind "for off road use only" when it comes to exhaust emissions. This works for smaller tuners because the off road use is actually true in many cases. Also, l could imagine Dinan's favored nation status at BMW dealers played into this decision too. I wonder if the VW fiasco had anything to do with the decision.

Not to sidetrack OP's for sale thread too much. My understanding is dinan was purchased by a large exhaust company and because of their affiliation and potential ramifications for the larger company, dinan discontinued the 'race only' exhaust parts. If there is any better example, it is probably Burger getting fined for selling downpipes / JB's to CA customers and Akra's refusal to sell GT4's in CA.

That being said, I have the full dinan exhaust set up on my e92 and I love it. It sounds amazing when you WOT but is nice and deep on the street. Someone should buy this Xpipe before they are gone.

My friends an I were just talking about this today. Cobb doesn't sell the GTRs downpipes to CA unless they have documentation that it's purely a track car (not street legal). Not sure how you're supposed to do that, but either way CA is getting ridiculous.

it is getting intense. My friend with an F82 in california, who had purchased a JB4, received a letter from Burger offering to buy back the JB4 at full price. The letter looked like a legally ordered buy back.
