Looking to buy KW V3
Just took delivered my E92 M and looking to purchase coilover. Should I wait for the PSS10 to come to the state or should I go for the KW? How much for the KW?
For KW, I am worry that the spring rate and valueing will be too aggressive for crazy bumpy NJ/NY roads. |

I think the KW V3 will be perfect for your needs. They do not run stiff spring rates(progressive as well) and you can adjust the dampening and rebound. I am on the same crappy NY roads, except I am scared the V3 wont be stiff enough and am leaning towards the clubsports.

Shouldn't you be able to adjust how stiff they are with the springs and shock adjustments?
I though the Club Sports just had camber plates, and better springs?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Yes, there should be alot of adjustments. But I am still worry that the softest setting will be a lot more harsh than stock. I have tried bilstein for my E46 M, and the ride is comparable with stock (in term of comfort). That's why I prefer bilstein. However, it seems like I can't get them in the states yet, and the only other popular coilover is the KW. That's why I am considering and asking for opinion for KW now.

It all depends what you plan to do with your M3. If you mostly do street driving, the KW V3 or PSS10s may be okay. Tracking your car? You will need the KW Clubsport, TCKline D/A, AST or something more aggressive.

fwiw there are problems with some KW on E90'ers cars
see http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=243156 I'd wait and bit and see if there are some design changes, or at least investigate the issues |

So do the KW Clubsports come with camber plates as well?

KW
The KW coilovers are probably going to be between 2.5 and 3k dollars. This is for the highest end coilover they offer, which I believe to be the best suspension that can be purchased on the market today. They have some ridiculous tests that they've done on their products that are quite impressive. As for knowing about the V3, I have V3's on my 97 740iL. I will tell you that if you don't want a harder ride over stock, then there's no point for you to even get coilovers. They will be harsher, however the V3s will offer you the greatest amount of adjustment. Back to the V3s on my car though; AMAZING. Best performance mod to date and I don't think the ride is bad at all, however is dramatically different than my stock suspension.

The problem exists in what we have seen in the V1, V2, and V3's for the 135/335 is progressive rate springs that are too soft. The existing KW spring design is impossible to achieve linear rates. Springs are rather large and heavy, reduce reaction time, add weight, and reduce stroke. Just the opposite can be done with light weight Swift springs or similar to reduce weight, speed up reaction time, and increase stroke. In addition, the twist and unwinding of the springs are not under control causing irregular spring rates and noise. The Clubsport on the other hand is much much better than the V3 in terms of springs used, but still left room for improvments. |

I guess if I get KW's, Clubsport is the way to go.

As car enthusiasts go there has to be someone here who's had PSS9 on the previous e46 who can compare them to the AST Kit. D1cker 1

so what im getting from hp autowerks is that there isnt really a good set out yet? im interested in a set but as a track mod so want stiffer spring rates. i do care though if they are overly bouncy since i will split time with street use. any ideal set up for both worlds?
