I am an offset dimwit
I have a 2011 550i m sport. Current rims are 9X8.5 ET 33 14mm in and 19X9 ET44 rear 23 mm in.
I am interested in buying Beyern Baroque Silver with Machine Face as follows (as specified on the getyour wheels website) 20x9 Front 32 20X10.5 Rear 27 When I use the offset listed, my front space increases by 36.106 mm but I only have 23 mm of clearance? What am I missing? 10.5 inch rims plus one inch (lip) divided by 2 is 5.75 plus a 27mm (1.06299 inch) offset is 6.813 backspace inches subtracted from the 11.5 inch total rim size is 4.687 inches (Front ******* or 83mm. This compares to a 3.268 inch OEM front space or 119mm for a difference of 36.1mm additional front space. The guys at getyour wheels say these rims will fit in the rear with NO issues. I am sure they are experts but I can not get the numbers to work??? Please help out a dimwit..... |

Given those proposed spec.
F: assuming you are to use 255/35/20 tires -5mm clearance from strut and +7mm extension from fender edge R: asumming you are to use 285/30/20 tires -2mm clearance from strut and +36mm extension from fender edge http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=682126 See post # 10 - same width but offset is 45 http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=618392 More discussion on the 20 * 10.5 wheel fitting However, you are downsize the rear to 20*10 et 37 with same size tires -6mm clearance from strut and +20mm extension from fender edge Last edited by bobblehead; 06-15-2012 at 09:10 PM.. |

I am still contemplating as I am very concerned about the offset. I know you indicated you had no issues.

I like the Vossen Staggered Set - (2) 20x9 Vossen VVS-082 Silver (Chrome Stainless Steel Lip) ET 35 (2) 20x10.5 Vossen VVS-082 Silver (Chrome Stainless Steel Lip) ET 35 Any fitment issues? http://www.elementwheels.com/proddet...vvs-0822105sil Will these fit with 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 - Yes or No or 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 - Yes or No Any concerns? I DO NOT want any fender rubbing issues and I would like to lower as well. Thanks for all the assistance. My 550i is the M sport version with ARS. Last edited by apopple; 07-05-2012 at 09:57 AM.. |

To me the front offset is a bit on the conservative side but the rear is a good semi-aggressive fitment. My rears are the same specs and I'm running Falken FK453 in 285/30R20 with no rubbing with H&R springs.

Technicallly you could use a spacer on the +35, but the use of spacers may or may not be something you want. I would contact the vendor or better yet, call Vossen themselves and ask if they offer a different offset. The ride on the 30s is great. Though it's thinner, keep in mind they are non-rft...so it will be a softer ride tire.

Did the shop agree to include the BMW caps in the deal ? If not, use the existing ones.
post some pics once you have fitted the hot wheels. As for coilovers, KW V3 is the ultimate. Not sure if you have xdrive, if you do, then the KW V3 is not available for the xdrive. KW won't be making it at all. |

Used the factory caps. I am now waiting on the RDS springs. Wheels and rims look great. I cannot believe the difference, it is a totally different look than the 351M rims. I am going to clean it up before taking some pics. Also changed the roundels from blue to black and put on the black kidney grills (E A S Y) and swapped out the chrome 550 i with the gloss black. |

There are a few reviews regarding to the RDS springs. Expensive but not sure it is actually any better than others like, ACS, HR, Eibach, etc.
When ready, post some pics for us to see the beauty ! Quote:

Will do. I am also debating addition of a front spoiler lip but I don't want a CF and the only other one I have found was $$$$$$$. Not sure I can justify and I Do Not want to be accused of "ruining" my cars look.
